Who we are
Schoolkit is a school-management app developed and operated by MasterAds. A school uses it to run its daily work, and its staff, students and parents use it through accounts the school creates.
For student and staff data, the school is the owner of the data and responsible for it; we process it on the school’s behalf and only to provide the service.
What data we keep
- Data the school enters: names of staff, students and parents, classes and sections, phone numbers, photos, attendance and lateness, behaviour, marks, homework, timetables, fees and receipts, leave, health files, messages and circulars.
- Account data: username and password (stored hashed), language and settings.
- Device data: a notification token, to deliver notifications to the phone.
- Location: a staff member’s location is read only at the moment they tap “I’m in” or “I’m leaving”, to check they are at school; the bus assistant’s phone location is read only during a trip. Nobody is tracked in the background.
How we use it
We use the data only to run the app for the school: showing each section to those allowed to see it, sending notifications, printing and reports. We never use it for advertising, never sell it, and never share it with third parties unless the school asks us to or the law requires it.
Where it is stored and how we protect it
- Data is stored on our server in the cloud.
- Each school’s data is isolated from every other school’s, and no account sees more than its role and permissions allow.
- All connections between the app and the server are encrypted.
- We back up the data every night.
- The MasterAds team accesses a school’s data only for support or maintenance, and only when needed.
Children’s data
The app is used by school students, many of them minors. Their accounts are created by the school; we collect nothing beyond what the school needs and show them no advertising.
Retention and deletion
We keep the data for as long as the school subscribes to the service. A school can ask for a copy of its data or for its deletion at any time, and the data is deleted when the subscription ends, in coordination with the school. A parent or staff member can ask for their data to be corrected or deleted through the school or by contacting us.

Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we change something important, we tell subscribing schools before it takes effect.
